Q: Did you collect basketball cards when you were little?
A: Yeah, my mom used to take me every Friday after school. And depending on how I did in school, she would take me to get some cards from the comic store, and I would get three packs everytime I went. I was a big collector. I have a book full of cards, old time cards and new cards. It’s a great hobby. I looked forward to every Friday. It made me do well in school. I tried to behave in school, so I could try to get those cards on Friday, because, if I didn’t, my mom wasn’t going to get them for me. They could do a lot for kids
Q: What is your nickname?
A: My nickname is D.J. My real name is Darryl Jerard. And I go by D.J. for Darryl Jerard.
Q: Have you always worn the number 14?
A: Yeah, it was my first jersey number when I started at 4 years old. I’ve worn it ever since.
Q: What did you enjoy about college basketball?
A: Just every night playing hard, playing against the best competition in the Big 12. College is a great thing, it’s a great experience.
