DJ back in action
DJ returned to the court this weekend, seeing his first minutes since January 10th after sitting out with an abdominal injury. After playing 16 minutes on Friday to ease his way back into action, DJ started Sunday night’s game and led the Bobcat’s with 27 points, including 6 three-pointers. DJ also chipped in with 6 assists in 39 minutes, while shooting 10-19 from the floor.
“My teammates did a great job of finding me and I was shooting with confidence,” DJ said after the game. “I was just being aggressive and my teammates were doing a great job of finding me. We love to play, that’s why we’re out there.”
Despite DJ’s efforts, the Bobcats fell to the Heat 92-96 for their fifth straight loss.
“They just made a lot of shots. They played great on defense but I think we fought hard also.”
The game also matched DJ up against Mario Chalmers, giving him an opportunity to go head-to-head with a fellow rookie and longtime friend.
“Me and Mario [Chalmers] are good friends,” DJ Said. “It’s always fun playing against somebody you know and he does a great job running his team.”
